Behind the Curtain: Todrick Hall
Behind the Curtain: Todrick Hall.
This is a documentary about the well known youtuber Todrick Hall he has tried hes way on american idol but didnt get far, he also tried to get on glee but was not successful with that either he then went internet famous by creating the McDonald's drive thru song, then by doing a flash mob in target to beyonce's end of time.
Todrick Hall has gone in to broadway by being in kinky boots and then going into chicago in the west end, he has also created feature lengths which he has also brought to the stage which in the documentary we see him bring his straight outta oz feature length to life, which is a twist on the wizard of oz but telling the story in away of his life from a young age we see him struggling with his father because of his sexuality and we also see how he made each video, which is in the feature length and the story behind each one.
For example water guns is one of the songs which todrick wrote by himself (which most of his songs a created by him) is based on one of his close friends who got shot ten days after becoming a cop and in the documentary we see him recording the video for water guns and talking about his friend, which at the time of recording the music for the song, the Orlando shooting at Christina grimmie concert happened and then the next day he started to film the music video, the same day he finished filming the video, the shooting at the gay nightclub pulse happened, which when this part is shown we see footage from the Christina Grimmie concert and we also see footage from the shooting at pulse and even text messages from people who where trapped in the club when the shooting was happening.

Create start Caitlin, you have found a documentary and discussed how to presents information to an audience. It’s clear that you know a lot about the subject but I would like you to be more analytical about how the documentary is made. To expand on this, I would like you to talk about how it uses documentary conventions – i.e. interviews, stock footage, voice overs, etc.
